I had a stereotype image that sunflower is a typical hot summer flower, but I have to change my thought by watching a field filled with full blooming in such late autumn in Samukawa town in Kanagawa prefecture. In a austere monotone landscape moving to winter, bright yellow flowers, even they were smaller than ones in summer, enough cheered me up.

向日葵といえば盛夏のイメージですが、神奈川の寒川では、冬枯れに向かい風景がモノトーンになるこの時期に、向日葵が満開になっているというので、出かけてきました。夏の向日葵に比べると随分小ぶりですが、十分に元気をもらえました。

I visited a Syoubu (Japanese Iris) Festival in Higashimurayama. In these rainy days, many Syoubu festival held and I enjoyed one them held in  Higashimurayama.
